About the event
This month's dance features live music from the Hot Lovin' Jazz Babies, a swing band from Portland, Oregon.
The Hot Lovin' Jazz Babies strive to resurrect the spirit of late 1930’s small band ensembles such as Fats Waller & his Rhythm, Teddy Wilson and his Orchestra and Billy Holiday and her Orchestra. This high-powered swing ensemble based in Portland, Oregon features Doug Sammons and Dee Settlemier, front persons for the long-time Portland swing band the Midnight Serenaders.
Schedule:
7:00 - 8:00 PM: Beginner Lindy Hop Lesson with Deb & Sonali
8:00 - 10:30 PM: Social Dancing to live music
10:30 - 11:00 PM: Social Dancing to DJed music
Admission: $15-20, sliding scale
Open to all ages. Individuals and partners welcome. Volunteer opportunities available.
